Women’s volleyball, men’s soccer and coed golf at Penn State New Kensington open their fall seasons in August. Volleyball’s 19-game schedule includes six home dates in the Athletics Center. Second-year coach Dave McGeary returns five starters from last year. Soccer plays a 14 game schedule that features seven home games on the campus’ field adjacent to the Athletics Center. A year ago, second-year coach Jack Adams led the Lions to the Penn State University Athletic Conference finals in the team’s first year of intercollegiate competition. Golf is entered into six tournaments, highlighted by two home matches, Bob Darby Open and Bernie Guss Invitational, at the Links at Spring Church in Apollo. Tenth-year coach Bill Woodard returns the top four players from last year’s squad, which finished 10th in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association championships. All campus sports compete in the PSUAC and the USCAA and are eligible for the USCAA national championships.
