CLEARFIELD – The Chamber of Commerce of Clearfield has announced that they will again be holding their $100,000 Amateur Golf Shoot-Out challenge. The event is taking place at Eagles Ridge Golf Club’s driving range and is being sponsored by Helmbold & Stewart Group, KTH Architects and Wal-Mart Store #2129. Qualifying dates are taking place July 7, 12, 14 and 19 between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Rain dates are set for July 15 and 20.
This is a fun, yet challenging event that is sure to get any avid golfer, or anyone that has the ability to hit a golf ball, to take their shot at a hole-in-one to win $100,000. Here’s how it works: everyone has the chance to qualify between 5 and 7 p.m. on the above mentioned dates by trying to get their golf ball as close to the pin as possible or in the hole, which is set at a distance of 150 yards. The ten individuals with golf balls closest to the pin or in the hole at the end of the qualifying dates will return Friday, July 22 at 9 a.m. for their shot at a hole-in-one to win $100,000! There is no entry fee, just a $1 donation per ball with no limit on how many purchased.
Everyone who participates will receive a $50 gift card coupon for 100thingstobuy.com. The ten individuals with a ball closest to the pin or in the hole will receive special gifts and become finalists for the hole-in-one challenge. At the final on July 22 any finalist that scores a hole-in-one will receive $100,000! Also, the finalist with the golf ball closest to the pin will take home a new Weedeater lawn mower.
The Amateur Golf Shoot-Out final on July 22 will be held at the ninth hole at Eagles Ridge Golf Club and all are welcome as spectators. The final is also scheduled in conjunction with the Clearfield Chamber’s Golf Outing, which is sponsored by Alpha Natural Resources, C. Classic Dodge Chrysler Jeep and UGI Central Penn Gas. All are welcome to take part in the outing. Register your foursome or as an individual golfer by July 13 by calling the Chamber office at 814-765-7567. Hole sponsorships are still available for only $50.
You can also find full details on both events as well as outing registration forms on the chamber’s Web site. The Clearfield Chamber holds community events such as these to raise additional funds which enable them to continue their mission of work, “to promote and enhance the greater Clearfield area economy, business environment, quality of life and community pride, now and in the future”.
