CLEARFIELD – Three bridges that span Interstate 80 in Clearfield County will be closed starting next week as contractors continue work on a bridge preservation project. Motorists should be aware that the following bridges will be closed starting Monday:Â
- Route 2035 (Maple Street) in Cooper Township;
- Route 1009 (Deer Creek Road) in Morris Township;
- Route 4015 (Sher-de-lin Road) in Sandy Township.Â
The bridges will be closed for approximately one month while crews work to remove the bridge decking and replace it.
Signed detours will be in place and are as follows:
- Northbound drivers on Route 1009 should take Route 2030 (Bigler Cutoff Road) east to Route 53 north to Route 1011 (Rolling Stone Road) north and Route 1014 (Schoonover Road) west. Southbound drivers will follow the route in reverse.
- Route 2035 motorists will access either side of the closed bridge by using Route 53 to Route 2037 (Winburne Road).
- Southbound drivers on Route 4015 will use Route 255 (DuBois to Sabula Road) south to Route 4017 (Shaffer Road) south to Route 4014 (Shaffer Road) east to Route 4016 (Home Camp Road) north. Northbound drivers will follow the route in reverse.
PennDOT will issue traffic updates as work zone locations change. All work is weather and schedule dependent. Swank Associated Companies is the contractor on this $1.9 million bridge preservation project.Â
Drivers are reminded to obey posted speed limits, use caution in construction zones, and always buckle up. PennDOT reminds motorists they can log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions before heading out.  Â
