Viola Elaine Foster, 70, of West Decatur, passed awayJune 22, 2011 at the Clearfield Hospital.
Born April 17, 1941 in Boggs Township, Clearfield County, she was the daughter of Howard and Bessie (Green) Smeal. She was a 1960 Graduate of Philipsburg Area High School. Mrs. Foster was a homemaker and was protestant.
On Sept. 10, 1960 in Wallaceton she wed Charles Foster who preceded her in death in 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter Hanna Webster, brothers Wilbur, Howard, John, and infant brother Charles Smeal, sisters Margaret Ward, Adline “Connie” Stine, and infant twin sisters.
Surviving are 9 children: Trudy Root and husband Michael, Michael Foster and Fiancée Cheryl, Kevin Foster and wife Pam, Lori Slabon, and Buddy Foster all of West Decatur, Charles Foster and wife Shelly of Sandy Ridge, William Foster and companion Janet Frank of Osceola Mills, Penny Kenny of Wallaceton, and Amanda Pryde of Philipsburg.
Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one brother and three sisters. Harold Smeal and wife Alice of Wallaceton, Barbara Dixon and husband Paul of Florida, Kathy Sprout of Texas, and Norma Vincenyo of Indiana.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Foster will be held at the family homestead in West Decatur onJune 25 at 4:00 p.m., with Pastor Charlie Jury officiating.
