CLEARFIELD – Drivers in Clearfield County will encounter a work zone as a project gets under way on US Route 322/ state Route 153 (Clearfield-Rockton Highway) in Lawrence and Pine townships, Clearfield County. Crews will begin prep work in this area today, with work beginning in earnest June 27.Â
The project includes drainage work, guide rail updates, replacement of the concrete islands and pavement patching. The entire six-mile stretch of the project area, from the intersection with Maple Avenue in Lawrence Township to the end of the four-lane in Pine Township, will be paved.Â
The project also includes some bridge work and installation of pavement markings.Â
All work is anticipated to be done during the daylight hours. Motorists should expect traffic delays and be alert for flaggers and stopped or slow-moving traffic.Â
Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. of State College is the contractor on the $4 million project. Work is expected to be complete by mid-December.Â
