John Paul Felix, Age 88 of South Main St., DuBois, PA died June 19, 2011 at his residence.
Born on Oct. 22, 1922 in Punxsutawney, PA, he was the son of the late Peter & Anastasia (Kristoick) Felix.
He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II in the European Theater.
He worked for Consolidated Natural Gas Company for 26 years until his retirement in 1984. Previous to that, he worked in the Kramer Mines and for Rockwell International Manufacturing.
He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church where he was an usher. He was a member of the DuBois Chapter of the Blue Army and was well known for making rosaries and distributing them to the missions as well as many other places. He enjoyed watching sports and he especially loved to watch his family play sports.
He is survived by 7 brothers and sisters (Regina Bauer of Emporium, PA; Anastasia Shilala and her husband Dom of DuBois, PA; Edward Felix and his wife Mary of Stump Creek, PA; Theodore Felix and his wife Janet of Falls Creek, PA; Bernadette “Bunny” Felix of DuBois, PA; Regis Felix and his wife Donna of DuBois, PA; and Mary Jo Ulishney of DuBois, PA) and numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister (Marcella Kuritz) and a brother (Patrick Felix)
Visitation will be held on June 21 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. from the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A scriptural wake service will be held on Tuesday evening at 6:45 p.m. from the funeral home.
The DuBois Area Honor Guard will conduct a ritual service in June 22 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on June 22 at 10 a.m. from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Full military honors will be accorded from the church.
Burial will follow in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church Cemetery in Sykesville, PA.
