Obituary Notice: William A. Mains Jr.

William A. Mains, Jr., age 77, of Mine Road, Luthersburg, PA died June 13, 2011 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center. 

He was born on July 16, 1933 in McKeesport, PA.  He was the son of the late William A. Mains, Sr. and Millie N. (Franks) Mains.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War.

On Aug. 1, 1953, he married Mary K. (Beiser) Mains.  She survives.

He was an accountant in the area for many years. 

He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church.  He was also a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17. 

He is survived by his children:  Susan M. Hartzfeld and her husband, Howard of DuBois, PA, Karen J. Mains of Reynoldsville, PA, William A. Mains III of Luthersburg, PA, Kathy Rhodes and her husband, Ronald of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Collene T. Palmer and her husband, Fred of Brockway, PA and Charlene R. Hoover and her husband, David of Rockton, PA, a brother, Russell Mains and his wife, Linda of Hollywood, FL, 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Peg Jones. 

Visitation will be held on June 15, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home. 

A Scriptural Wake Service will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. from the funeral home. 

The DuBois Area Honor Guard will conduct a ritual service on June 16 at 12:15 p.m. from the funeral home. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on June 16 at 1 p.m. from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant. 

Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard. 

Burial will be in St. Catherine’s Cemetery. 

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
