CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced that the Clearfield County Crime Stoppers is seeking information relating to an armed robbery at the Rite Aid on the Clearfield Curwensville Highway.
Shaw stated that on May 30 at approximately 5:15 p.m. a man entered the Rite Aid store wearing a mask, dark-colored gloves, a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and dark sneakers. The male suspect was carrying a large, black, semi-automatic handgun. The suspect is described as a white male with blue eyes.
Upon entering the Rite Aid, the suspect went directly to the Pharmacy area in the rear of the store and ordered an employee to the floor. The suspect then demanded prescription medication from the pharmacist. After the suspect obtained the prescription medication, he ordered another employee to the back of the store. The suspect then left the store and fled in a truck heading west on SR 879 towards Curwensville. The vehicle was described as being a full-size Ford extended cab truck that was two-tone in color, with dark gray on the top and silver on the bottom.
Shaw reported that the male suspect obtained approximately $3,700 worth of prescription medication and that the incident is currently under investigation by the Lawrence Township Police Department. Shaw stated that the Clearfield County Crime Stoppers is seeking information relating to the armed robbery at the Rite Aid store. Shaw also stated that the Clearfield County Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of up to $1,000.00 for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the armed robbery.
