CLEARFIELD – The Lawrence Township Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at Rite Aid along state Route 879.
According to police, the incident occurred on Monday at 5:15 p.m. A man entered the store wearing a mask, dark-colored gloves, a dark-colored hoodie (with Nike on the front), dark pants and dark sneakers. He went directly to the back of the store and ordered an employee to the floor. He then demanded prescription medication from the pharmacist and ordered a third employee to the back of the store.
Police said the man was carrying large, black semi-automatic handgun.
After he obtained the medication the man fled out the front of the store and got into a full-size extended cab truck. The truck was described as being a two-tone; dark gray on top and silver on the bottom. The man then fled the parking lot and headed west on SR 879.
The incident is under investigation and no other information was provided.
