Christine Elizabeth (Baughman) Rowles, 99, of Clearfield passed away on May 25, 2011 at the Clearfield Hospital.
She was born on Dec. 1, 1911 in Sanborn, the daughter of Charles H. and Sarah Mayhue Baughman.
Ms. Rowles was employed with Clearfield Area School District at the former Glen Richey Elementary school in the cafeteria.
She was a member of the Glen Richey Presbyterian Church where she was the treasurer of the Building Fund and taught Sunday school for over 40 years.
Ms. Rowles is survived by a son Duane A. Rowles and his wife Sibbie and a daughter, Elaine Rowles and her fiancé, Kenneth Morrison, all of Clearfield, three grandchildren; Gary Rowles and his wife, Patty of Clearfield, Mark Rowles and his wife, Debbie of Albemarle, NC and Jane Nouhra and her husband, Eid of State College and four great- grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Allen A. Rowles whom she married on Aug. 22, 1933 and who died on January 16, 2000, two brothers; Artie and Luther Baughman, one sister; Lena Baughman Rowles, and infant brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on May 28, 2011 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield with Pastor Leanne M. Gill Peters officiating. Interment will be in the Thompson Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on May 27 from 2-4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m. An additional viewing will be on Saturday from 9:00am until the hour of the service.
