CLEARFIELD – A former state trooper accused of helping an off-duty trooper out while that trooper was DUI was sentenced on Tuesday.
Ryan Henschel pleaded guilty to obstructing law or government function. The Honorable Paul Cherry sentenced Henschel to two years probation. Henschel was also fined $300 plus the cost of prosecution.
Henschel was accused taking Tpr. Chris Pifer, who was off-duty and involved in an accident, to a convenience store so Pifer could purchase agents to mask alcohol on his breath. Henschel was also accused of shutting off Donaldson’s MVR prior to Donaldson performing a field sobriety test on Pifer.
