Donald C. “Muzz” Montgomery, Age 84 of Knarr St., DuBois, PA died May 21, 2011 at his residence.
Born on Oct. 24, 1926 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late John T. & Margaret (Close) Montgomery.
On June 26, 1948, he married Ruth Ella (Whipple) Montgomery. She preceded him in death on Dec. 20, 1991.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in World War II.
He retired from Rockwell International Manufacturing in DuBois after 35 years of service.
He was a Life member of the DuBois Volunteer Fire Department’s Fourth Ward Hose Company. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in DuBois where he had served as a deacon and an elder. He loved going to his camp. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and planting flowers. He enjoyed being with the “Boone Mountain Gang” and sitting on the porch and visiting with his neighbors.
He is survived by a daughter (Mrs. David (Deb) Wilson of DuBois, PA). 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 3 brothers (John, Joe, & Sam Montgomery).
Visitation will be held on May 24 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. from the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A ritual service will be conducted on May 25 at 10:45 a.m. from the First United Presbyterian Church by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
A funeral service will be held on May 25 at 11 a.m. from the Fist United Presbyterian Church with Pastor Sarah Ott officiating.
Full military honors will be accorded at the church by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery.
