Francis J. “Boy” Jaskowak, 87, of Osceola Mills died Friday at Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg.
Born March 25, 1924, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Mascavish) Jaskowak. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Osceola Mills.
Mr. Jaskowak was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a charter member of the VFW Post 5020, Osceola Mills as well as of the Osceola Mills Honor Guard. He was a former Boy Scouts Master of Troop #48, Osceola Mills.
He was also a member of the BPO Elks, Philipsburg, for 62 years. He was a life member of the Halls Run Hunting Camp.
He worked as a construction supervisor for GSA until retiring after 33 years of service. He graduated from the former Osceola Mills High School in the class of 1943.
On Feb. 14, 1950, he wed Geraldine B. “Deanie” (Burns) Richards Jaskowak, whom survives him with four sons, James M. Richards and his wife, Darlene of Howard; Jerome L. Richards and his wife, Jardy of Rockledge, FL; Edward Jaskowak and his wife, Lynette of Tyrone; and Daniel Jaskowak and his wife, Louise of Casper, WY.
Also surviving are a sister, Bernice Kantoski of Osceola Mills; a brother, Robert V. Jaskowak of Canton, OH; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jaskowak was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Wayne and Mary Sharpless.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Osceola Mills, with the Father Robert Horgas as celebrant. Interment will be at the Umbria Cemetery, Osceola Mills.
Friends will be received from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Heath Funeral Home, Osceola Mills. The Rosary will be recited at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard.
