CLEARFIELD – The Bob’s Army & Navy store has been awarded the Golden Broom Award for the month of May.
The Golden Broom Award is a peer-to-peer program initiated by the Clearfield Revitalization Corp. (CRC) to promote storefront and sidewalk cleanliness. The broom has been passed on from the Hembold & Stewart Group, which won the award during the month of April.
The Bob’s Army & Navy store was chosen for the award not only for incorporating the town theme (Relay for Life) into their storefront, but also for including the tree boxes located at the front of their store.
“Bob’s Army & Navy was one of the first businesses to adopt the three tree boxes in front of their business. They mulched the boxes and incorporated purple flowers and trim in recognition of the Relay for Life. This made a big impact on their storefront, and it looks very appealing,” said Main Street Manager Kellie Truman.
Deb Bellmore-West of the Hembold & Stewart Group said that Bob’s “always does a great job at keeping the outside of the building looking attractive.”
Patti Semelsberger of the Bob’s Army & Navy commented on the store receiving the award. “It’s an honor to receive the Golden Broom Award, and we appreciate being recognized for trying to keep the town looking nice.”
