Barbara S. Henry, 87, of Clearfield died Thursday at the Clearfield Hospital.
Born Aug. 14, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Blair and Evelyn E. (Leitzinger) Sykes. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.
Mrs. Henry was employed by the former Bell Telephone Company.
She’s survived by two children, Joseph O. Henry, Jr. and his wife, Tracy of South Park and Patricia Kasony of Erie; and three grandchildren, Stephanie, Carley and Tyler Henry.
Also surviving are a brother and four sisters, Lewis Sykes and his wife, Mary of Williamsburg, VA; Eleanor Antenucci and Sarah L. Hodge, both of Clearfield; Virginia S. Norris and her husband, John and Margaret Spahr and her husband, Tim, all of Carlisle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph O. Henry Sr. on June 20, 1984 and whom she married April 15, 1955 in Lewistown; and five brothers, Benjamin, Russell, John, William and Edward Law Sykes; and two sisters, Mary Heineman and Elizabeth Kaufmann.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, at 2 p.m. Monday with Father John Chaplin as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield.
There will be no public visitation.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to charity of one’s choice.
