Plates Available by Service Affiliation, Military Campaigns and More
HARRISBURG – PennDOT will participate in the 10th Annual Armed Forces Day Celebration on Harrisburg’s City Island on May 21 by offering members and veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces information on how they can proudly display their service with military license plates.
“Every day, members of our armed forces are serving around the globe protecting our freedom,” said PennDOT Secretary Barry Schoch, P.E. “PennDOT is proud to offer license plates honoring those who serve in the U.S. Armed Forces and those who have served in major conflicts, from World War II to Operation Enduring Freedom.”
Forms and information on how to obtain the plates will be available at the PennDOT information table inside the City Island Pavilion. Representatives will explain the application process and answer questions.
A complete listing of military license plates is available on PennDOT’s Driver and Vehicle Services Web site, www.dmv.state.pa.us, by selecting the “Military License Plates” link under the “Military Personnel/Veterans Information Center.” The page provides images of each plate and links to the appropriate application form and respective fees.
A variety of license plates for active duty and reserve military personnel, and members of service-related organizations are also available through PennDOT’s Specialty Plate Program. A listing of these license plates is at the link “Specialty Plate Program” near the top of the Military License Plates page.
Applications for these specialty license plates must be requested through the approved organization’s local representative. Proof of eligibility is required.
