Hummingbird Speedway was again forced to cancel its program this past Saturday evening due to weather. The rain-out marked the fourth time in six weeks the track has succumbed to inclement weather.
“We began the season with three rain-out outs, and hoped the bad weather was behind us when we finally got two weeks of racing in.” said Program Director Dave Resinger. “But this weekend there we were again looking at weather forecasts and radar.” He continued by saying “The only good thing is we’ve been able to avoid getting people to the track and then cancelling. But everyone would, of course, rather have Mother Nature cooperate and let us go racing. It’s been tough but, well, we can’t control the weather so just have to deal with it and hope it gets better.”
Hummingbird will try again to put on a four-division racing program next Saturday. The track is located on Route 950 between Reynoldsville and Falls Creek.
