BENEZETTE TOWNSHIP – A 60-year-old Connecticut man is dead following a plane crash Friday night in a wooded area of Benezette Township, Elk County. His name was not released.
The Ridgway-based state police responded to the plane crash shortly before 6 p.m. to assist the Federal Aviation Administration in its investigation.
One person, a 60-year-old Connecticut man, piloted the single-engine plane and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Elk County Coroner, police said.
No other details are available at this time. State police were assisted at the scene by the Bennetts Valley Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance.
