CLEARFIELD – Lock Haven Clearfield Campus announces that Beautification Day is set for May 20 at the campus. The annual event includes the campus students, faculty, staff, and community members sprucing up the campus grounds with flowers and other gardening activities. Volunteers and community members are welcome to bring and plant their own flowers around the campus as well. Students from local high schools, including West Branch High School, will participate again in scheduled activities.
To thank the Clearfield community for their support of the LHU Clearfield Campus, this year’s event will include a wide variety of activities, which are all open to the public. Groups and businesses are encouraged to inquire on how their members can participate and opportunities for their organization to be represented in the day’s activities.
The campus plans to offer workshops including home gardening and healthy eating and cooking. An agricultural part new to the event will include llamas and a honey bee exhibit. The campus is also hoping to build a pavilion planned to be constructed on the northeast part of campus.
Wal-Mart Transportation will once again include free food and drinks for volunteers and community members who visit the campus during the event. Sunny 106-FM is also a media sponsor for the event.
Tours of the campus will be available to the public, and information sessions for prospective students are also scheduled. Other activities are currently in planning and will be announced at a later date.
