Ethel D. Fauzey, 97, of Clearfield, passed away April 24, 2011 at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Clearfield.
She was born Oct. 26, 1913 in Clearfield, the daughter of Eugene and Annie (Garband) Heise.
Mrs. Fauzey was a homemaker.
She was the only one in her immediate family to graduate from Clearfield High School.
Mrs. Fauzey was affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene of Clearfield, where she played the piano, taught Sunday school for fourteen years and was on various boards of the church.
She attended the Clearfield County Hymn sings monthly, was a member of the temperance group since the age of twelve. She volunteered for RSVP at the Senior Citizen Center, visited residents of Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and a member of “Remember When” and the Bradford Grange.
Mrs. Fauzey is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was the youngest of six children and the last member of her generation having been preceded in death by her husband Arthur F. Fauzey whom she had been married to for 34 years and who passed away on Aug. 9, 1985, a daughter, Darlene Brock, two brothers; James and William Heise and three sisters; Edith Dixon, Julia Smeal and Sadie Purser.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on April 27, 2011 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield with Rev. Bob Thomas officiating. Interment will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on April 27 from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of services.
