MILESBURG – Once-beaten Bald Eagle Area backed Megan Dudish’s shutout pitching with a 16-hit attack and scored in every inning except the second to defeat Clearfield 9-0 in a Mountain Softball League crossover game at the Milesburg Little League Field Monday afternoon.

Coach Bob Dixon’s Lady Bisons solved Dudish for six singles, but the Lady Eagle sophomore kept the visitors off the scoreboard with the help of two double plays. She struck out five and walked one.

Andrea Butler and Suzie Colesar had two hits apiece for Clearfield (1-2).

“It was a well-played game with no errors, and we hit the ball hard at times,” Dixon said. “They hit the ball well, and they just kept chipping away.”

Ahead 1-0 after two frames, BEA (6-1) pushed across pairs of runs in its next four at-bats.

Pacing the Lady Eagles were Amber McClure, Lilly Glunt and Carrie Barnyak with three hits apiece off Heather Picard, who fanned five and walked two.

Alexi Josefik and Kelly Chambers each had a single and a triple.

The busy week for the Lady Bisons continues with home games against Huntingdon on Tuesday and Juniata on Wednesday. They are booked for bus trips to Lewistown Thursday and Tyrone Saturday.

All four Mountain League teams are newcomers to Clearfield’s schedule, with Huntingdon and Tyrone being Allegheny Division rivals.
