Weather conditions forced the cancellation of Hummingbird Speedway’s “Test & Tune” date on April 16th. The practice session had already been rescheduled from the originally planned date of April 9th. Not wanting to postpone the opening of the season any further, Speedway management has announced that racing will begin on April 23rd. Program Director Dave Resinger said “Track owner Louie Caltagarone and I were really hoping Mother Nature would cooperate and permit us to have Test & Tune, but we all know how unpredictable the weather can be at this time of year and it’s just been way too wet to try and do anything.” Resinger went on to say that race race teams should watch the track’s website for information about the Opening Night schedule. “Safety inspections and hot laps will take place, and we’ll make information available later in the week to let teams know what time they should arrive at the track next Saturday” he stated.
Hummingbird Speedway is a 1/3 mile clay oval located on Gospel Center Road, off Route 950 between Falls Creek and Reynoldsville, PA. The track’s regular program consists of Limited Late Models, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Front-Wheel Drive 4-Cylinders racing on Saturday nights at 7:00PM.
