CLEARFIELD – PennDOT advises that a multi-vehicle crash continues to keep both lanes of I-99 northbound and southbound closed at this time in the State College area. I-99 is closed between the Shiloh Road exit (exit 76) and the Bellefonte/Route 150 exit (exit 78). Shiloh Road is also closed. Drivers will encounter a detour and travel delays.
Detour routes are as follows:
- Local northbound I-99 drivers will use the Blue detour, exiting at exit 73 and back on at exit 78.
- Northbound motorists traveling from the Altoona area will exit I-99 at Port Matilda (exit 61) and will follow the Orange detour (alternate Route 220) to the Milesburg interchange (158) at I- 80.
- Local southbound drivers will use the Blue detour, exiting at exit 78 and back on at exit 73.
- Southbound motorists traveling I-80 from the Milesburg area will exit at the Milesburg interchange (158) and will follow the Orange detour (alternate Route 220) to the Port Matilda interchange (61) of I- 99.
PennDOT now expects to re-open the roadway by 3p.m. today and will issue updates on the situation as information becomes available.
