AUSTIN – Two programs, “Swamp Slog!” and “Let’s Go Fishing!” have been slated for next Friday, April 15 and Saturday, April 16, respectively at the Sinnemahoning State Park.
Friday, April 15
Swamp Slog!
6 – 7:30 p.m.
Spring is here, and the wetland areas in Sinnemahoning State Park are noisy with the sounds of regenerating life. Join the park naturalist for a walk into a wetland, and learn to identify the creatures and plants that depend on this incredibly productive habitat. Dress for the weather and for venturing into a wet area. Boots and insect repellent are recommended. Meet at the Campground Amphitheater.
Saturday, April 16
Let’s Go Fishing!
1 – 3 p.m.
Kids! – Join the park naturalist at the boat launch area for an introduction to the sport of fishing. Information on tackle, bait, fish identification and fishing regulations will be discussed. Casting instruction will be included, and children will have a chance to borrow equipment and practice fishing during the program.
