Members of the Penn State DuBois Women’s Liaison Committee invite the community to join them in the annual Take Back the Night Rally on April 14.Â
The event is held each year to show support for women who have been victims of violence. The rally also provides those victims a venue to tell their stories, and to help others by sharing their experiences.
Supporters will walk throughout campus with signs displaying messages of hope for abuse victims, beginning at noon on April 14. The rally will begin at 7:00 p.m., and include speeches from abuse victims, who will talk about what they have been through and how they have overcome it. Speakers from organizations such as Passages and Crossroads will also offer information for victims and supporters. Poetry readings and a candlelight vigil will also be held.Â
