Juniata – After having a week off, due to three postponements in a row, the Clearfield Bison boy’s tennis team took the long trek to Juniata on Thursday and were shutout 7-0 in Moutain League play.
Two Bison singles players, Ryan Bower and Jordan McAllister, extended their matches to three sets, but were beaten in the deciding set.
Singles Results
1. Ian Bookhamer (Clfd) lost to Taryn Stouffer (J) in straight sets 1-6 and 5-7.
2. Ryan Bower (Clfd) lost to Jake Alexander (J) in the third set 5-7, 6-2 and 4-6.
3. Kunal Patel (Clfd) lost to Nick Turner (J) in straight sets 3-6 and 2-6.
4. Cory Maines (Clfd) lost to Nichole Turner (J) in straight sets 1-6 and 1-6.
5. Jordan McAllister (Clfd) lost to Jon Hershey (J) in the third set 0-6, 6-4 and 1-6.
Doubles Results
1. Ryan Butler and Vince Owens (Clfd) lost to Stouffer and Sam Horning (J) in a pro set match 0-8.
2. Jonathan Bumbarger and Ben Panebianco (Clfd) lost to Lucas Wright and Dan Cohenour (J) in a pro set match 0-8.
Clearfield (1-2) will be back in action on Monday when they travel to Punxsutawney.
