George Sudik Jr., 82, of Philipsburg died Friday at Windy Hill Village.
Born May 16, 1928, he was the son of the late George Sr. and Anna (Kovalcin) Sudik. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Philipsburg, where he was also a member of the Board of Trustees.
Mr. Sudik was the assistant supervisor of the General Cigar Factory, Philipsburg, until his retirement. He also had his own woodworking shop, making specialized hand-crafted furniture and products.
He wed the former Shirley M. Lobb Sept. 30, 1951 in Brisbin. She survives at home.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Sudik; one sister, Helen Gallo; and one son-in-law, Joseph Michael “Joe Mike” Williams.
Mr. Sudik is survived by two daughters, Cathy “Chip” Williams of Philipsburg and Karen Woodrow and her husband, Jeff of Carlisle; one son, George “Scott” Sudik and his wife, Mary of Dover; and one sister, Mildred Shuttick and her husband, Paul of Warren, OH.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Casey Williams of Osceola Mills; Michael Williams of Washington, D.C.; Heather Woodrow of Columbia, S.C.; Ashley Woodrow of Carlisle; Alexis Sudik of York; and Lindsey and Skylar Sudik and Brittnay McMichael, all of Dover; two great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Philipsburg, with the Rev. Brenda K. Leigey officiating. Interment will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg and from 10 – 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
