CLEARFIELD – Dog enthusiasts considering adopting a greyhound or who just want to learn more about the breed are invited to a meet and greet with Nittany Greyhounds on April 2Â from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Waggin’ Trains pet supply store, 1226 South Second Street, Clearfield.

Volunteers from the Port Matilda-based rescue group will bring several greyhounds available for adoption and provide counsel on making one of the ex-racing dogs a family member. The application process to adopt from Nittany Greyhounds can also be started on Saturday.

Nittany Greyhounds has found homes for more than 1,200 greyhounds over the past 12 years and is a 501c3 charitable organization that depends solely on donations to operate.
