Michael Mohnal, 93, of Madera, died at 1:29 a.m., March 27, 2011 at the Clearfield Hospital.
He was born on Oct. 19, 1917, in Madera, a son of the late John and Fannie (Mandrick) Mohnal.
Mr. Mohnal was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Nativity of the Theotokos Orthodox Church, Madera, and was a 1936 graduate of the Madera High School. He was a US Army Veteran of WW II.
He was employed as a registered surveyor for the former Carlson & Associates Engineering of Philipsburg and the Michael Baker Engineering firm. He retired as a self-employed registered surveyor.
For many years, Mr. Mohnal served as the Bigler Twp. Secretary and long time secretary of the Madera Moose Lodge # 1172.
He is survived by five siblings; Catherine M. Levy of Fairview, NJ; Nick Mohnal of Huntingdon; Frank Mohnal and his wife Julia of Philipsburg; Joseph Mohnal of Clearfield and Helen Smolen of Strongsville, OH.
He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Mohnal was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, George and Wasco Mohnal and two sisters, Ann Tutko and Eva LaBar.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, March 29, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc, Madera and on March 30 from 10-11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Nativity of the Theotokos Orthodox Church, Madera. A Panikhida service will be held on Tuesday, at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home with Igumen David Lewis officiating.
Funeral Services will be held in St. Mary’s Nativity of the Theotokos Orthodox Church, Madera, on March 30 at 11:00 a.m. with Igumen David Lewis officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Nativity of the Theotokos Orthodox Cemetery, Madera. The Osceola Mills Honor Guard will be conducting military graveside services.
