Hazel M. “Fat” Goodrow, 83, of Clearfield, passed away on March 26, 2011 at Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Goodrow was born on July 9, 1927 in Barnsboro, the daughter of Robert Joseph “Zeke” and Mary Jane (Mason) Borst.
She had been employed at various places; Cigar Factory in Philipsburg, Airplane Marine, Tafco, and Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She had also been a waitress and seamstress.
Mrs. Goodrow was Methodist by faith.
She is survived by six children; Leita M. Harris and her husband Jim of Olanta, Lavania Smeal and her husband Pastor Larry of Mabank, TX., Hazel Lloyd and her husband Kenneth of Coalport, Kay Charles Goodrow and his wife Dorothy of West Decatur, Robbin Bogan and her husband Ed of Clearfield and Marty Ann Butler and her husband Rick of Grampian, twenty grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, numerous great great grandchildren, four sisters; Bernice June Bauman of Olanta, Nancy JoAnn Graham of Woodland, Lona May Michael and her husband Jim of Glen Richey and Darlene McMonigle and her husband Jack of Mineral Springs and a brother, Robert Lee Borst of Indiana.
Mrs. Goodrow was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles “Goodie” Goodrow whom she married on Nov. 19, 1948 and who passed away on Jan. 19, 2003, two grandchildren, a great granddaughter and two brothers; Cecil Frank Borst and Junior Detwiler.
Funeral services will held at 11:00 a.m. on March 30 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., of Clearfield with Pastor Ernest E. Simmers officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on March 29 from 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services.
