SHAWVILLE – Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) visited the Shawville Power Plant on Thursday.
Toomey said he wanted to better understand how the plant operated, as well as learn what challenges the plant is facing. He stated that coal-fired plants are very important.
“This is a very important employer in Clearfield County,” said Toomey.
Toomey also touched on regulations that coal-fired power plants face. He stated that a balance must be reached. He said that new regulations can result in substantial costs for power plants.
