LOCK HAVEN – The HOPE Center at Lock Haven University has announced its third annual Take Back the Night Vigil. This year’s event will be on Tuesday, April 5, starting at 7 p.m. on Russell lawn.
Originating in the 1970s, with roots in the United States and Europe, Take Back the Night is a global campaign to end sexual violence.
The vigil will feature a keynote address from Cindy Love, director of the Clinton County Women’s Center. Other speakers include members from the student groups Lyrically Speaking and Distinguished Gentlemen.
Several vocalists, including members of the Gospel Choir, will perform.
The vigil is a way for the campus and community alike to combat sexual assault and to honor survivors. Refreshments will be provided by the Women’s Coalition.
