DUBOIS – Sandy Township’s West Sandy Water System Extension nears completion with the sixth construction payment.
The sixth payment, $293,229.35, brings the project up to 75 percent of the project having been paid for according to Township Manager Dick Castonguay. The project is still en route to come in on budget.
The project’s main water line construction phase has been completed. The water tank has technically been completed. The new water tank still needs to be disinfected and the completion of the water pump house in order to complete the stress test. The stated percentage of competition for actual construction was between 80 and 85 percent.
It is expected for the project to be finished, including reclamation, in June. The planned equivalent completion date was originally in September. This puts the project three months ahead of schedule.
