RUSH TOWNSHIP – A scrap yard in Centre County was burglarized recently, resulting in over$5,000 in damage and lost materials.
According to the state police in Philipsburg, the incident occurred between March 20 and March 21. Someone first attempted to access the building by drilling a padlock on the main door. After the drill bit broke in the lock, the person then attempted to use a saw and cut a small hole in an overhead garage door to get to the locking mechanism. Unsuccessful, the person then cut a large hole in the center of the garage door and stepped through it.
Once inside, the person removed about 500 pounds of radiators, a five gallon gas can full of gas, and a Coleman flashlight.
