Penn State York’s Junior Soccer Camp is set for July 18 to 22 at the campus and registration is under way for 6- to 8-year-olds. The junior camp is designed for male and female players and provides a half-day of instruction, 9:30 a.m. to noon each day.
The experience will help to provide participants with an understanding and appreciation of proper soccer skills and techniques. Time will be devoted to basic skills and concepts important to the younger player in a positive atmosphere.
Under the direction of Ben Otterson, assistant Penn State York soccer coach, camp participants will learn the importance of proper preparation such as warm-up and stretching prior to participation as well as foundation skills and tactics. Otterson also stresses the importance of having fun while playing soccer. Otterson has a national and advanced national license for coaching soccer.
The fee for the five-day camp is $95 and includes the instruction and a camp T-shirt. Register early to ensure a place in camp.
