WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – A Sigel man suffered major injuries in a motorcycle accident on Sunday evening.
According to the state police in DuBois, 24-year-old Andrew M. Steele was traveling east in the westbound lane of township Route 544. He was approaching a curve, hit his brakes and skidded in attempt to round the curve. Police said the bike began to “yaw”, and Steele laid his bike down on its left side and slid across the road. The vehicle then struck a guide rail. Steele’s leg was caught between the bike and the rail. Both Steele and the bike then went overt he guide rail. Steele landed about 20 feet from the guide rail in a ravine.
DuBois Emergency Medical Services assisted at the scene.
