Herbert M. Pringle, 92, of DuBois died Friday.
Born on June 26, 1918 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Jasper Lawrence and Jenny M. (Smith) Pringle.
He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Army as a Technician 4th Grade. He was a member of James J. Patterson Post 813 Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion in Canonsburg.Â
Mr. Pringle retired from McGraw Edison in Canonsburg after 48 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, woodworking and spending time with his family.
He married Emma D. Doud on Oct. 11, 1939. She preceded him in death on Jan. 31, 2002.Â
Mr. Pringle is survived by one daughter, Valerie Kontra of Myrtle Beach, SC and one son, Bruce A. Pringle of Treasure Lake.
Also surviving are one brother, George Pringle of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, John H. Pringle.
There will be no public visitation.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Morningside Cemetery Chapel with the Pastor Dick Whitaker officiating.
Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
Memorials may be placed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
