LOCK HAVEN – Lock Haven University’s physician assistant program has moved up significantly in the 2012 edition of U.S. News and World Report’s rankings of graduate programs. The Lock Haven University PA program has gone from 36th to 25th in rank.
Graduate health programs were ranked on the basis of peer assessment surveys. Each year, U.S. News surveys are sent to deans, other administrators and or faculty at accredited degree programs or schools in each discipline. U.S. News surveyed 130 physician assistant schools accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant.
“U.S. News and World Report represents the only national ranking system that consistently follows a common set of data over time,” said PA Program Director Walter Eisenhauer. “This enables programs to see how they are evaluated by their peer institutions.”
He added, “The improvement in rankings from 36th to 25th demonstrates the commitment of faculty to students and assures them that they receiving a high quality education that is constantly improving.”
Lock Haven University offers the physician assistant program at its main campus in Lock Haven, at its Clearfield Campus, at the Dixon University Center in Harrisburg and at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport.
The Lock Haven University physician assistant program is fully-accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
