CLEARFIELD – On Tuesday the Lawrence Township Supervisors voted to refund sewer overcharges going back to 2008.
According to Robert Winslow of Timberland Federal Credit Union, TFCU has been charged for sanitary sewer service since 2008. However, the buildling located along state Route 879, is not tied onto the sewer line and has on-lot sewage. Winslow said since 2008, his company has paid $218 in fees for a service they didn’t have.
Winslow noted that the Clearfield Municipal Authority collects the sewer surcharge on behalf of the township.
“Maybe there are people on the system not being charged,” he said.
Supervisor President Bill Lawhead said they looking into that issue a few years ago.
The vote to refund TFCU passed, 3-0.
