CLEARFIELD – On Tuesday the Clearfield County Commissioners looked to clear up some misconceptions about their proposed Veterans Advisory Committee.
According to Commissioner Mark McCracken, information concerning the committee has been disseminated that is false. He stated that it is a volunteer committee, that will not be paid.
“These seats are strictly voluntary,” said McCracken.
Commissioner Chair Joan Robinson-McMillen added that the commissioners will not be giving up any administrative duties, that the county will retain those.
Commissioner John Sobel stated taht letters have been sent to the commanders of the various veterans’ organizations in the county in an attempt to get their feedback.
While letters of intent to serve on the committee are due today, the commissioners indicated they are willing to allow some leeway on the deadline.
