CLEARFIELD – On Sunday a Brookville man suffered major injuries in an automobile accident on Interstate 80.
According to the state police in Clearfield, 51-year-old David A. Porter was traveling eastbound on I-80 in Lawrence Township. For unknown reasons he left the right berm and traveled through a grassy section along the road for 128 yards before traveling back onto the roadway. He crossed both lanes of traffic and struck the emankment in the center median. His vehicle overturned multiple times and Porter was ejected from the vehicle.
Porter was transported by Clearfield Emergency Medical Services to the Clearfield Hospital emergency room, then to Altoona for treatment of his injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt.
The Lawrence Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.
Porter was cited with various vehicle code violations.
