Police Report: Ridgway PSP

Police reported an incident of driving under the influence at 9:44 p.m. along state Route 948 in the area of the Kersey Eagles in Fox Township, Elk County. A 51-year-old Emporium man was routinely stopped for a traffic violation. As a result of a preliminary investigation, the man was arrested for DUI and taken for blood testing at the Elk Regional Health Center. Charges are to be filed for DUI and related summary traffic violations through the district court.
Police reported an incident of retail theft that occurred at approximately 10:15 p.m. Friday at the Wal-Mart store in Fox Township, Elk County. A 24-year-old St. Marys man and a known 16-year-old St. Marys female reportedly attempted to steal merchandise from the store without paying for it. Charges were filed against both accused.
