Obituary Notice: Marcella H. Kavelak

Marcella Helen Kavelak, 88, of Delmont, and formerly of Curwensville, passed away March 5, 2011 at the William Penn Care Center in Jeanette, PA. 

Born Aug. 9, 1922 in Grampian, PA, she was the daughter of Albert and Sophie (Rogers) Radzieta.  She had worked for both the former Kent’s Sportswear and former Clearfield Cheese Co, both of Curwensville.  She loved baking.

On July 1, 1943 in New Millport, she wed George T. Kavelak who preceded her in death in 1979.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, a great grandson Alex Kavelak, and three brothers John, Carl, and Leo Radzieta. 

Surviving are 3 children George T. Kavelak Jr. and his wife Susan of Raleigh, NC, Richard A. Kavelak and his wife Brenda of Lake Wales, FL, and Carol J. Strickland and her husband Robert of Delmont.  Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, a sister Ann Witherow of Clearfield, and a sister-in-law Louise Radzieta of Grampian. 

At the request of Mrs. Kavelak, Private Memorial Funeral Services were held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville at the convenience of the family.  There was no public visitation.

Interment was in the Crown Crest Memorial Park of Hyde, PA
