University Park, Pa. — After leading the Penn State women’s gymnastics team to a 196.325-195.900 victory against Ohio State on Feb. 26, sophomore Sharaya Musser (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was named the Big Ten Gymnast of the Week. This is the third honor of the season for Musser.
The Ann Carr Award winner, Musser claimed the all-around title against the Buckeyes, scoring a 39.500. In addition to the all-around title, Musser took top honors on vault, bars and beam. She scored a meet-best 9.875 on vault, tied her career-high on bars with a 9.925 on bars and scored a 9.925 on beam. Musser finished seventh on floor with a 9.825.
What’s Next?
The Nittany Lions host N.C. State and Maryland on March 4 in the home finale, which begins at 7 p.m. Penn State will honor two seniors, , Danielle Hover (Hamburg, N.Y.) and Heather McElwee (Ponte Verde, Fla.).
