Marsden “Jerome” Hobba, age 88, of West Long Avenue in DuBois, PA died Feb. 23, 2011 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
He was born on August 14, 1922 in DuBois, PA. He was the son of the late Thomas E. & Catherine V. (McElroy) Hobba.
He was a corporal in the U.S. Army Air Corp having served in World War II.
He retired from Consolidated Natural Gas Co. after many years of service.
He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council #519, the DuBois Y.M.C.A. and the Msgr. Bernard McGivney Chapter of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians.
He is survived by one niece, Diane Papier of Frederick, MD, one nephew, Michael Faour of Washington, D.C., one grand niece, Jessica Papier of San Diego, CA and one grand nephew, Andrew Papier of Washington, D.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Barbara Caroline Faour.
A Scriptural Wake Service will be held on Feb. 25 at 5:45 p.m. at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Feb. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. from the Goble Baronick Funeral Home
The Knights of Columbus and the Ancient Order of the Hibernians will pray the rosary on Friday evening at 7 P.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011 at 9 a.m. from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the church
Burial will be in St. Catherine Cemetery.
