– Police reported an incident of harassment that occurred sometime between 4:30 – 4:38 p.m. at a Wilcox Road address in Jones Township, Elk County. A Johnsonburg resident reportedly received eight telephone calls from an unknown male who posed as a collection officer for an undisclosed loan company. The caller reportedly requested immediate payment for a defaulted loan.
Troopers believed that it was a part of scam and have advised residents not to provide any financial information unless they properly identified the representative and company calling. The telephone number used by the unidentified caller in this incident was 661-213-9218.
– Police investigated the death of a 30-year-old Weedville woman at her redwood Avenue residence Friday in Jay Township, Elk County. The victim’s death remains under investigation at this time.
