Dr. Colson E. Blakeslee, 89, of DuBois died Thursday at his daughter’s home in Maryland.
Born on Oct. 21, 1921, he was the son of the late Colson E. Blakeslee Sr. and Mabel (Fye) Blakeslee. He was a member of the DuBois Christian & Missionary Alliance Church.
Dr. Blakeslee conducted a family medical practice in DuBois for over 50 years.Â
He married Harriet Hartzell, who preceded him in death, in 1944. They had one son, Dirk C. Blakeslee, who also preceded him in death.
In 1962, he married Yvonne Ellen Clark Williams. She also preceded him in death.
He is survived by two children, Dr. Marsha (Blakeslee) Parker of Crownsville, MD and Dr. Mark A. Blakeslee of Lewisburg and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Sunday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home, DuBois.Â
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the DuBois Christian & Missionary Alliance Church with the Rev. Tim Connor officiating. Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery.
