Dorothy L. Shugarts, 86, of Troutville died Friday at the DuBois Nursing Home. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Born on Feb. 25, 1924 in Rockport, MO, she was the daughter of the late Harve and Mary (Hanscher) Heckel. Mrs. Shugarts was a member of the Troutville Trinity United Church of Christ. She was a homemaker.
On Jan. 11, 1944, she married William O. Shugarts, whom survives. She’s survived by her daughter, Donna Shugarts and her son, William Shugarts and his wife, Vickie of DuBois and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Shugarts was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and four sisters.Â
There will be no public visitation. There will be a private family funeral service with the Pastor Mary Ellen Hoffman officiating.
Burial will be in Troutville Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery.
