James E. Hvizdos, 92, of Morrsidale passed away on February 16, 2011 at the Tyrone Hospital.
Born May 1, 1918, he was the son of the late Jacob and Anna Hvizdos.
Mr. Hvizdos owned and operated a photography studio in Coalport and then was employed as a photographer for the Applied Research Lab at Penn State University until his retirement.
He was a member of the St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Hawk Run. He was an army veteran of WWII, a life member of AMVETS Post #159 and was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Morrisdale.
In November of 1969 he wed Anne Gula who survives at home.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Joseph Hvizdash; four sisters, Anna Yurky, Susan Mondock, Margaret Andrechin and Mary Ropchock; and one infant sister.
The Funeral Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Hawk run with the Father William Rupp as celebrant.
Burial will be held in the church cemetery.
