CLEARFIELD – Lawrence Township is seeking to continue the road salt contract with Costars. Lawrence Township used Costars this previous winter and it was stated that next year’s contract needs renewed by March. If renewing the contract the township would have acquire at least 60 percent of the salt through Costars.
With a planned amount of 800 tons to be purchased this would come to 480 tons. Chairman William Lawhead stated that the township has already used 625 tons of road salt. The township still is planning on taking bids later this year for the final 40 percent of the salt.
The township received information regarding on earned income taxes on non-township residents from both Clearfield Borough and P-SATS.
“I just want to publically thank the borough,” said Lawhead.
Lawhead was thanking the borough for its aid in helping the township with a backed up sewer on Mount Joy Road. The work took three hours to remedy even with the township’s aid.
